Nagisa: ... Good morning, Anzu-san.
... It looks like we're the first ones here. Shall we have some tea and wait for the other members to arrive?
... You kind of feel bad making me serve tea?
... Fufu, so you say things similar to Ibara too.
... It's fairly close to the time we were supposed to meet. Even if I tried to read, I would probably be interrupted immediately, so I think brewing tea would be a good way to use my time.

Nagisa: ... Have I really changed that much?
... You're right, it's rare that I get to work together with you.
... So I suppose it's possible that the impression I give off has changed since the last time.
... What kind of impression do I give you right now?
... I see. If I've become easier to approach than before, that makes me happy too.
Rei: Oh, the two of you were already here?
Nagisa: ... Yeah. It's rare for me to have the chance to speak with Anzu-san alone, so we were making some small talk.
Rei: Oho? I would love to have listened in on your conversation.
Especially since Eden is under Saegusa-kun's command — I'm sure you don't have many opportunities to speak to the little miss. Did you have a meaningful conversation?
Nagisa: ... Fufu, we did. Thank you for asking.

Mayoi: Uuu, I really don't think I can do thisss! It's asking too much to have me perform together with that Sakuma-san and the others!

Kohaku: Hey, Mayoi-han! Quit makin’ a scene and get over here!
I heard from Rabu-han — as Alkaloid's representative, you're gonna perform well to do 'em proud, aren't ya?
In that case, 's common sense that ya gotta steel yourself no matter who you're performin' with. If ya turn tail an' run now, you're never gonna be able to face Anzu-han or yer unitmates.
Mayoi: Y-you're absolutely right, Kohaku-san! But, well, let's just say I didn't foresee this happening!
I didn't bump into him at the audition venue, so I didn't think that that Sakuma-san would be part of this...!
Uuu. I know he's much kinder than the rumours say, but it seems that those vampire rumours have become rather traumatic for me...
If I am to perform alongside him, I will end up freezing up like a frog being eyed by a snake! It's terrifying to even think about ittt!
Nagisa: ... What's up with that?
Rei: Ah, that's Ayase-kun and Oukawa-kun — they too managed to pass the audition.
We bumped into each other on the way here, but it seems that Ayase-kun is quite fearful of me... It's taken a bit of coaxing to bring him this far.

Rei: Kukuku. Am I really that frightening, Ayase-kun?

Mayoi: N-no! Of course not, not at allll...!
Nagisa: ... I see. This group of members is turning out to be more interesting than expected.
... During the auditions, they said they had roles for five people, right? I wonder if the last person couldn't fit it into their schedule.
Rei: No, I was told that my younger brother — that Ritsu was chosen for the role.
However, it appears that he is opposed to the idea of performing alongside me... I cannot say for sure whether he will come.
Kohaku: Oh? Which means ya did a great job coming here despite all yer complaints, Mayoi-han.
Mayoi: Uh— Am I being praised...?! Somehow that feels wrong...!

Kohaku: Gosh, stop deprecatin' yerself over every little thing. 'S you who was chosen after that stringent audition, so couldja start havin' some confidence in yerself already?
But more importantly, 's about time for us to start, ain't it?
Nagisa: ... Yes, it is. It would probably be best for us to start the discussion only after all five of us are here, but there are things scheduled after this as well.
... For this initial meeting, let us proceed with just the four of us and Anzu-san.
Rei: Yes, I shall explain things to Ritsu. I'll need to ask him personally whether or not he intends to accept the role too.

Ritsu: No, you don't.
Rei: ... Oh, so you've finally arrived, Ritsu.
Ritsu: Yeah. I gave it a lot of thought since I didn't want to let myself be influenced by your words. But in the end, I came here of my own accord.
... Unrelated to that, I was asleep until the last second.
Anzu, I guess it's not something I should be saying since I came late, but since we're all here now, could you explain this project again?
All I know is that we're filming a movie as part of the Shuffle Project.
And the script for the audition only helped me understand bits and pieces of this story.
Kohaku: I agree. 'M curious to know what kinda person my character, the Half-Blood Reaper, is.
Yer curious too, aren't you, Mayoi-han? About how the world in this story works.
Mayoi: Ah, um, uhhh...?!
N-no, it would be far too presumptuous for me to say anything — please speak amongst yourselves instead.
Nagisa: ... Hm. It sounds like you know a thing or two, Mayoi-kun.
... Tell us.

Mayoi: Ah, um. Understood...!
T-this work is based off of a fantasy piece that is famous overseas... I noticed this when looking at the script for the audition.
It's set in the world of a myth, so it's... You could say that you're primarily meant to enjoy the atmosphere of it...? Rather than expecting a logical story, you should just enjoy the ambience of this work.
Ah, no, but— it's not as if I'm trying to criticise the work, I promise!
It's just my opinion that, instead of thinking too hard about the "Half-Blood", it would be best to immerse yourself in the universe...!
Rei: I see. It might be exactly as you say, Ayase-kun.
This work falls under the fantasy genre; before we delve into crafting our roles, it might do us some good to take a look at the original novel and experience its ambience.
Nagisa: ... Yes, that's a good idea. It's quite a unique universe, so we should refer to the original text and have some discussion with the director about our roles.
Kohaku: I wasn't expectin' ya to be knowledgeable about works like this, Mayoi-han. Ya seemed like quite the timid one, but I guess ya weren't selected during the auditions for nothin'.
Rabu-han said ya were reliable too — looks like he was fer real, huh?
Mayoi: Eek...! I-I'm really not all that reliable, though...?!
M-more importantly. Please handle the rest, Anzu-san...!
Ritsu: This movie is a tragic tale that discusses eternity, woven by four grim reapers and one half-reaper, "La Mort"—
It's the word for grim reapers in French [1], huh? Somehow, it feels a little romantic.
So that's the reason idols like us, who have a dark side, were chosen.
The filming site is a European village that's an hour away from ES by highway, hm? ... Didn't that place go bankrupt previously?
Rei: Oh, I see... Since it's easy to use as a site for filming and photoshoots, ES has taken this Shuffle Project' as an opportunity to purchase it. Well, this certainly seems like it will be a high-effort production.
Nagisa: ... Well then. Until filming begins, let's read the book and ask the director if there's anything we're unclear about.
... I've had a similar experience in Dramatica as well; it's fascinating to have everyone working towards a single production together.
Kohaku: Yeah. It's my first time performing in a movie, but it's real heartenin' to have Mayoi-han and all of you senpais with me.
Let's all work together and make this Shuffle Project a great hit ♪
↑ Note: Actually it means 'death', but allegiantheart brought up the possibility that Kinosei meant 'death as an entity', which would make sense to relate to grim reapers. From what I can tell the word 'la mort' isn't exactly meant to be used as a proper noun, but oh well. We're just the messengers.
